My coaching style is guided by a deep belief in your ability to lead the change that you envision. It is characterized by curiosity, empathy, and a commitment to supporting you through the productive discomfort that leads to growth.
I come to my practice through two decades of experience supporting people with the process of navigating change – as a leader, as a teacher, as a mentor, and as a thought-partner.
Before launching Maxwell Stevenson Coaching, I was a leader in Higher Education in Canada and in the UK. In Canada, I was the Director of Learning and Teaching Development and Learning Technology at Vancouver Island University; in the UK, I was a Learning and Development Manager at the University of Essex. I was an internal coach in both organizations.
In the business world, I have worked with entrepreneurs, not-for-profit leaders, and independent business owners. Within the post-secondary sector, I have extensive experience working with university leaders at the Director-level and above, as well as academics and graduate students. What all of my clients have in common is a determination to succeed, and a willingness to do the work required to make change happen.
In addition to being a Certified Executive Coach (Royal Roads University) registered with the International Coaching Federation, I am EQ-i 2.0 and EQ 360 certified. I hold a BA (UVic), and an MA and PhD (Essex). I’m also a Certified Change Management Professional (Prosci), and have a Post-Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Practice (Essex).
If you’re ready to take the next steps towards your goals, I’m ready to walk beside you every step of the way.
